Hello Yogis.
With so many changes going on and with life making us older by the day, I thought I would write an inspiring post to encourage you to utilise the choices and personal power you do have over your body, mind and overall health.
We have become accustomed to feeling that, should a problem arise, we can turn to the mainstream services for help and assistance. And in some cases, that is exactly the right thing to do. Wouldn’t it be better though, to feel empowered enough to look after your future self, in the here and the now?
I am almost 54 years old and I have not had an easy life, by any means. Lots and lots of stress and life changing situations and circumstances to navigate, that could have left me completely bereft and depleted. I wake up every morning and thank my lucky stars that I have followed the path I have in life; one of self care, and stress minimisation around the circumstances I can’t control, and I am hoping that this mindset has helped me to remain healthy in body and mind.
The concept of being disciplined today; to empower your future self and that will be returned to you as you age, is such a powerful and life changing concept. So often we reach for convenience and distraction over discipline and structure.
Some people see me as a bit of an alternative hippie, but although I have alternative views, I do live the conventional life and mindset in many ways. I have always paid my way, I am a home owner, I have been married and raised 2 children. During that time, I changed my career from Library Assistant and Counselling and Mental Health Administrator to full time Yoga Therapist, Crystal and Sound Therapist and Reiki Master. Completing over 6 diplomas in varying subjects.
I know that with the personal relationship breakdowns and illnesses in the family that I have witnessed, I wouldn’t have been able to cope if I had not had an established spiritual practice behind me.
My spiritual practice started when I was 12 years old, it grew through my early twenties and became a business in my early 30’s.
I have reached an age where I am wanting to delve more deeply into the philosophical side of my practice now so I’m studying the with the Think Gita and ISKON movement.
When I reached 48, and after about 4 years of terrible peri-menopausal symptoms, I decided to build more strength in my body and decided to direct my yoga practice to that end. As a result, I feel strong and happy.
A simple daily practice is all it takes, just 20 minutes or so a day, either Meditation, Yoga, inspirational philosophical study or association with likeminded spiritual people can all help you to develop a new and revived sense of self as you move through life.
If you’re in your younger years, developing a yoga practice will be a life long friend to you. It will help you to master life’s ups and downs. You must look for a teacher that you can relate to and a type of yoga practice that your body wants to do.
If you’re older in years, it’s never too late to build mental and physical strength and to feel a spring of youthful enthusiasm again.
I can show you how to bring back that spark in your life.
Feeling so full of passion for this wonderful path, is encouraging me to share so that you can find your version of a deeper and more meaningful life.
I can’t help but feel so strongly that we all need to step into the new version of ourselves.
Everything you think, say and do, actually creates the future you will experience. We hold the key to our future experiences. Sometimes events feel beyond our control, and some are, but within the experience of these events, we learn to either grow or to fold.

It can look the opposite to the image you may have in your mind. My biggest moments of growth have happened when I have had my feet taken out from under me, for a sustained period of time, and I had only two choices. Find the lesson and let that give me strength to move forwards, or stay where I was and watch myself deteriorate.
I always chose the former. Although I have allowed myself to experience everything I was feeling at the time. I didn’t shy away from the lessons I was learning, I learned how to utilise them and to strengthen myself through them.
At this difficult time, when the world seems to be dark and uncertain, you can create, to some degree a future where you feel empowered.
I have some podcasts available that explore some of the ways you can achieve the above. They range from personal stories of growth and how I managed it, to inspirational practices that you can do that will help you to take the first steps towards your true and most authentic self. It’s when we are being fully authentic that our real strength shines through.
The podcasts give you yoga practices and relaxations that you can utilise to help you to begin.

I have always been conscious of two aspects, one was that if I don’t look after my body and mind, no one else is going to. The other is, there is a part of me that rests beyond the body and it’s experiences. Because of this, I have tried to bring that aspect into my awareness as I faced each of the challenges I have faced. I have invited that all knowing aspect of self, to permeate my physical body, my thoughts, and my energy field and to support me as I faced life head on!
I speak of this now because I see a lot of people through my classes and therapy sessions that are lost and don’t know how to be or what to be anymore. The old way of connecting to life is shifting. I truly believe we are all in the process of building a new world, a new way of being and of doing things; and I feel the confusion so many are feeling is based on the fact that the old way of understanding, the old principles we used to live by and the olds systems that used to support us, are failing in front of our eyes.
You hold the power, we as a community hold the power and as spiritual beings of understanding we can grow into this new chapter together.
Sending you love and light!
