Hello Yogis.
We are heading for a wonderful summer and I hope your life is as beautiful as you are!
Having said that, I want to be real. Life isn’t aways beautiful, and it isn’t always filled with sunshine and flowers. Sometimes life is terribly painful and difficult to manage.
I have been there on numerous occasions and I am just feeling my feet again after a year of healing myself.
Whether it be the pain in ourselves physically and emotionally or that of a loved one, or the collective pain of the planet as a whole. It can be an arduous task trying to stay strong and to function when difficult times hit.
Pain hasn’t always been something I have readily expressed. I am able to cry when I need to but more often than not, my crying has been in my private times. I have always been scared to be vulnerable in front of others because I felt like I wouldn’t be accepted any more and fearing that I’d be burdening others; choosing instead to laugh my tears away, which is a great thing to do in moments.
This past year has been different though. I have cried to my closest friends following a very painful chapter in my life. I had no idea how much my friends were there for me until these recent months. Thankfully, I am through the turmoil and well and truly out of the other side. Bouncing with love and joy again.
I wanted to share this because I realised that it was in opening up that I have found my deepest and most profound healing. I used to heal myself in private and in quiet contemplation and I tended to turn to my spiritual practices for healing, but that only took me so far and it took me longer to recover.
Turning to those who I love and whom love me, supercharged my healing journey.
It has shown me through practice, that we all need each other so much, however independent we are!
This world is full of fighting, and some of the most powerful and influential people on the planet, are stuck in the mindset of personal gain, personal power and collective destruction. The more of us who can open up to a collective mindset, where we allow ourselves to be vulnerable with the right people, by finding your soul tribe and by forming deep friendships that are born out of open honesty, sharing and mutual love and support; we can begin to influence this world for the better.
Buying our goods from sustainable companies and living within our means, allowing time for family and friends, rather than working all hours God sends just to have the best TV or car, will open life up in a much more fulfilling way. We can then connect genuinely and give and receive the support that we all need; while in this human vehicle of experience.
Healing is wholeness. When we suffer a trauma or painful experience, we feel fractured and intuitively we want to distance ourselves from the pain and discomfort that the trauma or experience brought. We may do that through distraction techniques, like substance abuse, over spending, isolation etc. However, when we open up to the love, support and the help of our loved ones, we can look directly at the pain we experienced and start to integrate and process it as part of our innate life lesson. We can build strength and understanding from the experiences and build greater resilience in life. Those experiences then can help us to be there for others, as we rely on our own experiences to aid compassion for and understanding to another situation.
Not everyone has people around them that they can turn to. I want to create a supportive community where people can feel safe to be themselves and to be accepted and loved.
In light of this. I want to start regular and via donation only, Community Meditation sessions again. I used to hold these in person and I am considering running these in person again but as it is hard to get the word around and to reach people nearby, I may consider the alternative of once a month via YouTube live or Zoom as options. If you are interested in taking part, please do let me know whether you would be interested in-person or online sessions. You can sign up to the Yoga Freedom Youtube Channel and you will be notified when I go live.
I hope to schedule a time and date and let you know in the coming weeks more information and details of when I theses sessions will launch. Each session will lead with a meditation but I will be opening the sessions up to include discussions and question and answer sessions.
I do believe in bringing our individual and collective Divine connection into the actions and needs of this life. Through this Divine connection we can super charge the events, experiences and lessons and we can begin to influence the planet and each other for the greater good.
On a personal level though, it is important that we each cultivate a community of like minded souls whom we can rely on, turn to and be supported by.
Sending you all of my love and gratitude.
Carrie-Anne.
