As the world constantly changes around us, we must learn to move inwards to find stability and peace.
It is never going to be the case that all is completely well in the world.
Things are in a constant state of flux. Light and dark battle each other for dominance and the winds of change can leave devastation in their midsts. Because of this the only stability that can be found, is within the hearts and minds of those who are witnessing this dance called life.
Faster and Faster
As life spins faster and faster and with the constant demand of work stresses, personal expectations and the seemingly endless demands of society in general, it can be increasingly difficult to close off from the mind’s desires and worries and to really feel peaceful and a true sense of happiness.
The physical effects of stress are free to wreak havoc on the body, and on all other aspects of life; such as the relationships we hold with friends, loved ones and colleagues.
I feel so saddened by the way we are lead to believe that striving in life is the key to happiness. With the message being for us to work harder, for longer and to want more and more. All that will happen in the end is a complete burn out.
Burnout happens when the demands above find us constantly living from the fight and flight response, blindly following the leader into battle.
When burnout happens, dis-ease is already closing in; as the body loses it’s delicate balance and begins to struggle to maintain the fine communication needed to keep it healthy and strong.
The mind-body connection is huge, whatever you think you feel, whatever you feel you then think. This leads to becoming what we think and feel and so the cycle goes around. Over time, a habit is formed and we become the pattern known as fear, anger, frustration, or guilt and the body takes over as it learns from you; the teacher!
If you feel you can relate to the above, I want you to know that change is easier than you may think.
It does however take time and dedication but the rewards are endless.
The art is in becoming conscious of this pattern within ourselves and to begin to bring changes in thought, attitude and daily life that will begin to move you towards a much more harmonious way of being.
I hear so many people say they are not flexible enough to do yoga, or there is not enough time in the day to dedicate time to this practice.
If you are reading this, you are already interested in making lasting changes that will enrich your life.
I recently started doing a regular hour long meditation each day, rather than the usual 15 minutes and I have found the effects to be beneficial beyond belief. (Going to bed earlier and getting up earlier is all it took!)
Each day will feel completely different. I promise! But most of all, you will get to know how you work. Most importantly you will begin to recognise the control you have had in your life so far, that has lead you to feel the way you do and the control you have, to put your life back on track, and where you want it to be.
Last month I dedicated an hour of free meditation tuition to whomever wished to join me and this was greeted with great interest.
I have decided to run another of these free sessions on:
Wednesday 11th April 8.00-9.00pm, Church of the Holy Trinity, Balmoral Road, Kingsthorpe, Northampton. NN2 6PQ. Full details can be found here.
In addition to this, I am starting another Beginners Yoga Mini Course on
Tuesday 17th April 2018, 7.00-8.15pm, Church of the Holy Trinity, Balmoral Road, Kingsthorpe, Northampton. NN2 6PQ. Full details can be found here.
I see so many people struggling with the demands of this life and I so wish to help them to find a more peaceful centre from which they are then free to fly into the life they wish to create.
If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me.
With warmest wishes.
